    The Plant Engineer reports to the Process Engineer at Nutrien Joffre Nitrogen facility 30 kilometers outside  of  Red Deer, AB.  The Plant Engineer will provide technical support to Joffre Nitrogen Operations and Chigwell Distribution Terminal. The incumbent will primarily work directly with operations and maintenance to ensure safe, efficient and reliable unit performance and make decisions and suggestions to address problem areas and improve overall plant performance.

    Key Tasks:

      

    • Managing the site reliability program including the Risk Based Inspection Program, PM maintenance and development
    • Managing the site capital portfolio including the execution of capital projects
    • Providing engineering support to the maintenance group
    • Troubleshooting equipment & process issues in the plant
    • Process control and DCS maintenance
    • Equipment performance monitoring
    • Playing a critical role not only ensuring your own safety, but also the safety of others.
    • You will have direct accountability for ensuring familiarity and demonstrating the Commitment to Zero policy, leading with a safety mindset and modeling the 3 Safety Principles, modelling the 10 Tenets of Operation and having your own personal safety action plan.

    Skills:

    • Ability to work in an operational team environment with limited supervision.
    • Excellent interpersonal, communication, planning, problem solving and organizational skills.
    • Experience working with Microsoft Office suite and SAP.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor of Science or equivalent in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering
    • Registered or eligible to be registered with APEGA as a Professional Engineer
    • 3 to 5 years of relevant experience
