    This position will report to the Director, Maintenance, Potash. There are no direct reports to this position. In the future, there may be a dotted line from a turnaround coordinator at each site to this position.

    Key Tasks:

    • The Turnaround Specialist will report to the Senior Manager, Maintenance and Reliability within the Potash Engineering, Technology and Capital group. This position contributes to safety by supporting turnaround processes such as planning, scheduling and risk analysis. The position will also increase production capability and lower costs through these processes. The TA Specialist will work with Potash sites to improve turnaround processes through:

      • Developing and refining TA methodology with input from sites & based on industry best practices
      • Training site personnel in TA methodology
      • TA risk assessment and management processes
      • Monitoring performance of site TA preparation
      • Developing and training on cost and scheduling processes
      • Sharing best practices and lessons learned across sites
    • Reporting on TA readiness, progress and results.

    Skills:

    • Knowledge of TA management processes including scheduling, cost control, budgeting, planning, materials management, schedule control, continuous improvement, risk management etc.
    • Verbal communication skills: Ability to facilitate meetings, conduct training, keep stakeholders updated, etc.
    • Written communication skills: Ability to generate reports and summarize information appropriate for each level of the organization.
    • Time management: Able to identify all important tasks, prioritize and manage commitments through to on-time completion

    Essential Qualifications:

    • 10 years turnaround experience combined with a degree in engineering, business or other related field, or 15 years of turnaround experience combined with journeyperson in related trade.
    • TA planning and scheduling experience from work ID, through planning, procurement, scheduling, execution, and closeout is required.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Formal qualifications such as CMRP, MMP, or PMP is an asset.
    • Oracle (eAM and OBIEE), SAP and Viziya (Scheduler, Mobile) experience and/or training is an asset.
    • Primavera P6 scheduling experience and/or training is an asset.
    • Experience or formal training in change management is an asset.
    • Formal training in turnaround management is an asset.
    • Experience or formal training in risk management is an asset.
