    Reporting to the Sr Manager, Wholesale Accounting, the Sr Accountant, Wholesale Accounting is responsible for all aspects of legal entity and tax reporting for gross margin. This includes understanding business drivers, ensuring transactions across legal entities are reported accurately, required reporting is provided and all annual deliverables are met. This position will also work closely with the Sr Manager, providing mentorship and coaching to other team members, leading initiatives, providing recommendations on accounting treatment and process improvements and getting involved in projects resulting from the recent merger.


    Core Responsibilities:

    • Post monthly journal entries for legal entity reporting
    • Provide monthly reporting and review and coordinate annual requirements for the tax department
    • Act as first point of contact for any legal entity questions or issues that arise, understanding the business drivers for intercompany transactions and how that impacts reporting
    • Recommend improvements to Senior Management around the monthly legal entity reporting process to generate efficiencies
    • Review FX impacts of intercompany transactions, ensuring everything is reported correctly
    • Ensure that gross margin is reported according to IFRS
    • Take the lead role in planning and executing post-merger projects and change initiatives
    • Ensure SOX compliance and provide recommendations to senior management on developing controls
    • Provide guidance on complex accounting issues or opportunities related to gross margin reporting (foreign exchange, revenue recognition, leases, hedging, etc.)
    • Review sales contracts quarterly to ensure proper revenue recognition
    • Review tasks completed by other team member and provide coaching, mentorship and feedback
    • Manage ad-hoc and non-routine requests

    Required Professional Qualifications and Education:

    • Accounting designation with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience
    • Knowledge of IFRS is required
    • Knowledge of Power Query, Power BI and Power Pivot is an asset
    • Knowledge of SAP and Hana is an asset
