    Reporting to the IT Manager, Potash, the IT Analyst is responsible for maintaining and supporting our implemented information and communication systems and technology at our Vanscoy Potash operation. 

    The IT Analyst will collaborate with local and Corporate IT teams to maintain systems and satisfy end user requests in a timely manner, such that our employees are able to do their jobs effectively and efficiently.  This in turn contributes to the productivity of our people, which in turns supports our business.

     

    Consideration will be given to applicants with proven experience with designing/implementing/supporting Cisco networks and equipment.

    Core Responsibilities:

    • Acquire knowledge of Nutrien Vanscoy’s policies, procedures, and operations
    • Attend/participate in monthly departmental safety meetings and perform duties in a safe, healthy, and environmentally responsible manner
    • Network troubleshooting and support – surface and underground operations
    • Tier 1 and Tier 2 user support for computer hardware, software, peripherals, and desk/cellular phones
    • Respond to user requests (application\file access, hardware, software, etc)
    • Workstation, server, network, and phone system maintenance, upgrades, and deployments
    • Basic workstation, server, network, phone system administration and monitoring
    • Inventory and licensing
    • Purchasing and warehouse inventory maintenance
    • Researching, designing, and implementing basic systems and solutions
    • Assist the rest of the local IT Team on tasks and Projects when required

     

    Characteristics for Successful Performance:

    • Strong verbal and electronic communication skills – The IT Analyst will be in constant contact with internal employees, contractors and vendors and require these skills to provide prompt, effective service.
    • Problem solving skills – Excellent hardware/software troubleshooting skills are essential to ensure the IT analyst can diagnose and find a solution on demand to end user incidents and requests in a timely fashion.
    • The ability to work efficiently on their own and as a member of a group
    • The ability to work under the pressure of tight timelines, to ensure maximum uptime of critical IT systems

     

    Required Professional Qualifications and Education:

    • 2 Year Technical Diploma/Degree
    • 1-5 years or experience in Corporate IT (preferably in a mining or industrial environment)
    • Certification in the following systems would be an asset:
      • Cisco Certification(CCENT, CCNA, CCNA-VOICE)
      • VMware(VCA-DBT, VCP6.5DCV)
      • Microsoft Windows Server 2016(MTA, MCSA)
