    Reporting to the Chief Metallurgical Engineer, this position provides leadership on various initiatives to increase unit production, and overall plant recovery performance.

    Key Tasks:

    • Plans, coordinates and performs process unit design tasks related to overall plant operability
    • Works with Department Heads to oversee long term and daily activities related to process unit optimization
    • Provides direction in the area of process-related distributed control system (DCS) programming
    • Provides periodic data and direction to the operations group to establish goals and plans for optimal process performance

    Skills:

    • Well versed in mass/energy balancing, statistics, transport phenomena, reaction kinetics, equipment selection/evaluation and process control/design
    • Knowledge releated to DCS and a higher level of understanding of associated programming logic
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential
    • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word/Excel/Outlook

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Bachelors degree from a recognized university in an engineering discipline, specifically related to processing/production
    • Must be eligible for registration for APEGS
