Advises management of pending environmental regulations and their impact upon the manufacturing operations.
Actively participate in the Safety Steering Committee, Strategic ( long term) planning and annual budgets to address environmental costs, Spills Management Team as Qualified Individual, and Environmental Auditing.
Establishes a high level of employee awareness with respects to environmental compliance through training to ensure that all levels within the organization contribute appropriately to continuing environmental compliance.
Promote employee development and communications – both internal and external.
Manage the Environmental Laboratory: ( sampling and analyses for: met data; air quality; surface water, groundwater, and wastewater quality; and solid & hazardous waste).
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
The incumbent must have a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Science or Engineering and ten years of industrial experience with direct responsibility for environmental activities. Experience should include all related environmental disciplines, e.g., air, water, solid waste, hazardous waste, and land management. Individual must have demonstrated managerial skill and at least five years of experience directing activities of other technical personnel.
Prefer incumbent to have experience with chemical processes and mining activities associated with the manufacture of Phosphoric Acid and Phosphate Fertilizers. An advance degree e.g. , M.S., is preferred and likewise a Professional Engineering license is desirable.
