    The Statistician is responsible for recording, analyzing, and reporting facility operations statistical data. Data collected is used for audit trails for environmental, customer specification, product analysis, and satistical reports used to manage daily material production. This position will report to Chemical Operations Manager.

    Key Tasks:

    • Gathering and reviewing information and reports from departments and entering that information in computer programs to help monitor and calculate daily production, down-time, inventories, operating costs and other parameters.
    • Calculates, verifies, and reports daily production for the facility operations.
    • Generate computer spreadsheets and graphical presentations on present and historical data.
    • Analyze data to ensure compliance standards are meet.
    • Develop and improve current data tracking strategies to be more efficient, useful, and informative.
    • Work closely with management and staff employees to find solutions when irregular data values are discovered.
    • Maintain departmental files and keep all types of departmental correspondence systematically stored.
    • Be committed to improve and develop new skills, including safety and environmental awareness for the protection of employees and company assets to maintain low costs and competitive position in the phosphate industry.
    • Handle large volumes of paperwork and compile this information collectively into accurate and timely summaries.
    • Prevents on the job injuries by following all Nutrien safety policies and procedures.
    • Performs other related duties as assigned or as the situation dictates.


    • Requires proficiency in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and general computer literacy.
    • Analytical reading and proficient writing skills.
    • Requires strong communication skills, both oral and written.
    • Requires good time management and organizational skills; self-motivation; and ability to work independently, understanding job responsibilities and taking initiative, when needed. Interruptions throughout the day require this person to be able to prioritize work so that deadlines are met.
    • Ability to appropriately disseminate information between the Phosphate Division sites.



    • High School Diploma or GED along with Associates Degree (2 year) in Business Administration, or closely related field. 
    • 5 years of relevant work experience in closely related field.
    • This position requires an ability to accurately monitor and record production and inventories.
    • Incumbent must be able to identify any number of issues encountered within the production and mining operations.
