    Reporting to the Sr Manager, Margin Accounting, the Sr Accountant, Margin Accounting is responsible for ensuring that all Sales Revenue, Freight Expenses and T&D Expenses are properly reflected in the Financial Statements by ensuring the Journal Rule Tables are correct in the sales source system (MSS). This position will write and publish Gross Margin reports in the Oracle Sales Subledger (SSL) and reconcile to the Gross Margin reported in the Oracle GL and the Hana reporting tool.  This position is also responsible for the Purchased Product system for Sulfur and Ammonia in MSS.

    Core Responsibilities:

    • Ensure that all Sales Revenue is properly accounted for in MSS
    • Act as first point of contact for people with revenue-related issues
    • Performs functional lead role for the Financial Transaction Staging System
    • Module lead for Oracle SSL
    • Source for T&D Accountant and Accounting Analyst’s when dealing with MSS/SSL questions
    • Assures that Gross Margin is reported according to IFRS.
    • Ensures that journal rules used result in capturing data in such a way that the GM reports are efficient and complete
    • Creates SSL reports as needed, primarily Gross Margin reports but can be balance sheet accounts that are supported by SSL as well.
    • Analyzes SSL reports to ensure that they are all reconciled to MSS, GL and each other and to ensure that they properly reflect the Netback for all PCS sales.
    • Contributes detailed information and provides back-up for all GM reporting as requested.
    • Oversees the Gross Margin reporting in HANA; reconciling the data there against legacy SSL reported financial information.
    • Helps with all aspects of planning and executing SSL reporting and enhancement projects as they arise.
    • Provide guidance for Purchased Product system accounting.

    Required Professional Qualifications and Education:

    • Accounting designation with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
    • Knowledge of Oracle financial reporting systems, FSG Reporting, and ADI is an asset
    • Knowledge of MSS, IFRS is required
