    Nutrien is looking for a seasoned, Buyer to assist in the development and execution of procurement of site projects for Nutrien.

     

    Ideally, the position will be located at Nutrien’s Rocanville, Saskatchewan Operations, reporting to the Capital Procurement Manager (Potash) in Saskatoon. If the successful candidate will be based in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, there is an expectation for travel to Rocanville site 20% to 80% per month depending on project activity. The successful candidate will provide senior level support to the Rocanville site’s Capital Projects teams. Support will also be provided, as needed, to other Nutrien facilities.

                                                                            

    The successful candidate must have demonstrated experience in developing and executing major

    procurement and contracting strategies for capital projects including design, equipment, and services.

     

    This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Capital Procurement professional.

    Key tasks:

    • Interfacing with Project Engineering, Plant Leadership teams and Business Unit executives at multiple sites.
    • Manage supplier relationships
    • Development of Procurement/contract strategies for assigned projects.
    • Leading the development of various Rfx documents and bid evaluation criteria.
    • Evaluating proposals, making recommendations and negotiating the final award of a contract.
    • Aggressively negotiating to ensure best value for Nutrien.
    • Leading vendor performance evaluations and documenting process improvements.
    • Maintaining databases for contracts, labor rates and reporting.
    • Ensuring compliance to company best practices.
    • Managing risk exposure
    • Analyzing business data and making recommendations to improve efficiencies.

     Skills:

    • Ability to develop relationships with client groups at all levels – practitioner, manager, executive.
    • Highly proficient in analyzing spend data.
    • Experience in process development and implementation.
    • Excellent interpersonal, communication, planning, and organizational skills.
    • Superior analytical and problem -solving skills

     Qualifications:

    • 5-10 years’ experience in all phases of procurement and contracting in mining, EPC or other industrial environments.
    • SCMP designation. Or equivalent.
    • Undergrad degree
    • Extensive experience in complex RFx development and execution.
    • Extensive experience in negotiation of complex agreements for goods and services.
    • Extensive experience in project procurement in heavy industrial settings.
    • Ability to prioritize work in a very dynamic environment
    • Experience in ARIBA or Oracle
    • Training in Six Sigma or similar LEAN methodology would be an asset
