    This position reports directly to a Mill Process Engineer, within the Metallurgical group on surface.

    Key Tasks:

    • As an EIT, this position also includes as a good portion of time sampling to collect mill data used to solve process problems or make process improvements. From there, interpretation, engineering and reporting the results with recommended solutions to optimize plant operations.
    • Performing the daily and monthly metallurgical balances and reporting, as well with assistance with loadout systems for railcars loading, reporting and billing as required.
    • Perform physical inspections of equipment as it pertains to metallurgical performance.
    • Monitors the performance and accuracy of all on-line analyzers and reports abnormalities to the Process Engineer. Initiates required calibrations and/or maintenance as required.
    • When required, assist in any Product Quality sampling and investigation. Help maintain quality control programs.
    • Provide technical assistance to Production and Maintenance Departments.
    • Accumulate a thorough knowledge of all equipment, operating procedures and company policies affecting the operation of the refinery.


    • Ability to communicate effectively for receiving input, listening to suggestions/inputs, engaging and building consensus amongst operators and with maintenance and engineering groups, in order to generate optimum results.
    • Organize and prioritize action plans to move forward on recommended solutions to completion.
    • Ability to multi-tasks in a changing environment, while maintaining focus on priorities.


    • Good working knowledge of the operational processes and maintenance aspects of a conventional potash mill and loadout operations, would be a definite asset, but not a requirement.

    • Degree in Chemical Engineering.
