    Reporting to the Supervisor for Maintenance Engineering, the Inspector will be responsible for assessing the mechanical integrity and safety of equipment and executing the inspection needs for Redwater Fertilizer Operations (RFO). The inspector will be responsible for maintaining the pressure equipment integrity management system at RFO.

     

    Key Tasks:

    • Inspect pressure vessels, pressure piping, pressure relief devices and tanks
    • Monitor corrosion of vessels and pressure piping systems
    • Conduct nondestructive testing
    • Compose technical reports
    • Complete data entry in the Inspection Management Database (Visions)
    • Support fitness for service evaluations

    Skills:

    • High degree of accountability
    • Provide recommendations to head of department in consultation with Inspections Group and Mechanical Integrity SMEs
    • Take leading role in assigned mechanical integrity initiatives
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills combined with a demonstrated ability to organize and manage multiple priorities
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, SAP and Quality Assurance Programs
    • Knowledge/experience with Risk Based Inspection (RBI)
    • Knowledge of Visions asset management software preferred

    Qualifications:

    • High School Diploma is required
    • A Technical Institute Certificate or a Journeyman Trade Certificate in a related discipline
    • A minimum of 7 years’ experience
    • API 510 Certification and ABSA IPV Certification is required
    • API 570 and API 653 are strongly preferred
