    INSERT PARAGRAPH ABOUT REPORTING STRUCTURE TEAM AND THE ROLE (don't enter in all caps)

    Key Tasks:

    • Performs and/or initiates effective and timely engineering and technical studies to troubleshoot known plant problems, predict impending problems and to optimize plant operations.
    • Interacts daily with operators and shift supervisors to learn and share knowledge of the plant operations improve overall Mill performance.
    • Closely monitors real time and historical plant data from log sheets, data historian, lab analysis, plant inspections, etc. to detect abnormalities and to optimize plant operation.
    • Ensures that Process Flow Diagrams (PDF’S), Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID’s), and Standard Operating Procedures are complete and up-to-date.
    • Performs and/or facilities training for operations personnel as needed.
    • Tracks and reports reagent consumption and efficiencies.
    • Perform daily production reconciliations
    • Manages the Process Safety Management of Change (MOC) process for the Mill.
    • Performs and/or contributes to thorough process reviews, Hazard and Operability Studies (HazOps) and “What If” analyses on current operations and on proposed changes to plant equipment, processes and systems.
    • Monitors and reports equipment (pump, cyclone, and flotation) efficiencies.
    • Closely monitors quality of raw materials, process chemicals, and finish product processes.
    • Performs and/or contributes to Root Cause Failure Analyses (RCFA) and incident investigations and completes assigned action items on schedule.
    • Promotes and contributes to successful implementation of projects by providing accurate, timely and thorough design input/ design review and by facilitating close coordination and communications with Mill personnel.
    • Performs month-end phosphate inventory checks and lost tons/ reliability reports.
    • Promotes and contributes to site Manufacturing Excellence and Operations Driven Reliability (ODR) processes.
    • Identifies and facilitates implementation of production, reliability, efficiency and cost improvement opportunities.
    • Research and evaluates industry technology advancements, other plant experiences and innovative ideas.
    • Develops and maintains networks with other PCS and Phosphate industry plants.
    • Performs special studies/projects as directed by the Mill Superintendent.
    • Ensures proper maintenance and replacement of process separation equipment.
    • Acts as the project manager for capital projects as directed by the Mill Superintendent.

    • Acts as ‘set up’ Mill Superintendent when the Mill Superintendent is offsite.
    • Participates in Weekend Duty rotation SCM Mining Operations.

     

    Skills:

    • Must be able to plan, organize, and execute.
    • Maintain awareness of trends in mineral processing and the phosphate industry.

     

    Qualifications:

    • A B.S. Degree in Metallurgical, Mining (with Mineral Processing background), or Chemical engineering is required and 10+ years of industry (plant) experience, preferably with some line supervision. Experience in mineral processing plant operation, pumping systems, process control systems, and project management is desirable. Strong foundation in safety and human relations is also necessary. Engineering in Training (EI) certification is highly desired. Professional Engineering registration is encouraged.
