    The Mechanical Engineer III provides mechanical engineering support to ensure that plant operations are safe and reliable and that the production potential is maximized in relation to plant availability and that the plants program is not jeopardized by mechanical engineering inefficiencies. In this role you would report to the Maintenance and Engineering Manager.

     

    Key Tasks:

    • Evaluates the performance of mechanical equipment and systems and recommends operating changes or equipment modifications to improve Plant Safety, Reliability and Efficiency or to prolong equipment life.
    • Assists in the design, selection and specification of new mechanical equipment or systems.
    • Assists in coordinating activities involving inspection, maintenance, and repairs to optimize utilization and improve reliability of mechanical equipment and systems.
    • Assists in the review of prepared engineering drawings and submits comments and recommendations in order to ensure effective final design of modified or new Plant equipment and facilities.

    Skills:

    • Analytical and problem solving skills.

    • Computer Literate especially with Microsoft Office Suite .

    • Good verbal and written communication skills.

    • Demonstrated competence with Process Plant Equipment, mechanical components, industry Codes and Standards.

    • Demonstrated competence in the development of repair plans, work schedules and technical documents.

    Qualifications:

    • BSc Mechanical Engineering from a recognised university. 

    • 7 to 10 years exprience in petrochemical industry.
