    Reports to the Mill Maintenance Superintendent

    Key Tasks:

    • Accountable for engineering functions required to maintain and upgrade our plant facilities, and will lead the Maintenance Engineering Team to plan, develop, and execute strategic engineering plans to deliver optimal mill performance that is aligned with the business demands.
    • Directs and leads the engineering team.
    • Leads plant upgrades at site while site continues to operate.
    • Promotes and introduces industry best practices and technologies to engineering and operations teams.
    • Captures, defines, prioritizes, and recommends engineering projects that will improve mill operation and reliability.
    • Develops strategy for engineering structure & activities that meet the objective of operations and maintenance team.
    • Responsible for achieving departmental project quality, budget and schedule goals targets.
    • Participates in, and conducts meetings with site managers to discuss current and future plans.
    • Provides reactive support to milling as required. 
    • Performs other related duties and responsibilities as needed and / or requested by management.
    • Fiscal Responsibility: recommending and executing capital projects up to $10M; and managing engineering group’s annual budget.
    • Leadership Responsibility: manage, mentor, and grow a team of engineers to ensure maximum performance of the team; manage an engineering team of up to 14 employees; instill a sense of urgency within the maintenance engineering team; deliver, and promote stretch performance from staff; and provide leadership for corporate initiatives.

    Skills:

    • Microsoft Office.
    • AutoCAD.
    • Ability to lead and develop.
    • Coaching and Mentoring skills.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor Science Degree in Mechanical / Industrial Systems/Electrical Engineering or related function, with a Professional Engineer designation registered in Saskatchewan.
    • Potash mining experience would be a preference.
