Reporting to the Senior Manager, Compensation, the Manager, Compensation will manage Nutrien's compensation programs, policies, procedures, and systems, ensuring alignment with business goals and strategies. The role is responsible for the planning, development, and implementation of Nutrien Ag Solutions compensation programs that are internally equitable, externally competitive, and legally compliant.

What you will do:

  • Manage the direction of Nutrien's Compensation strategy and framework within Nutrien Ag Solutions by strongly partnering with HRBPs, business leaders, finance, and payroll
  • Trusted advisor to HRBPs and business leaders through effective consultation on all areas of compensation that drive the mission’s strategy
  • Lead a team of one or more direct reports
  • Responsible for the annual compensation process, including, merit budget, base pay and variable compensation
  • Planning and fulfillment of the annual compensation survey participation, benchmarking process, and data analysis
  • Cultivate the annual compensation survey participation, benchmarking process, and market data analysis
  • Provide market competitive recommendations through research, market pricing, and benchmarking for best practices
  • Support Pay Equity efforts through reporting, analytics, and communication material
  • Manage the monthly commission program administration, resolving inquiries and participating in plan design
  • Performs analytics to evaluate plan effectiveness, metrics, and reporting
  • Act as a change agent for the organization by leading efforts to transfer knowledge on compensation programs and processes across the business through transparent discussion, effective listening and building positive relationships
  • Accountable for compliance of the Nutrien Ag Solutions compensation programs and monitoring regulatory changes
  • Participate in enterprise compensation initiatives as needed
  • Participate in the preparation of materials for the Human Resources & Compensation Committee of the Board

What you will bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent work experience
  • 8+ years progressive compensation experience or related HR experience
  • 2+ years with managing teams
  • Experience with commissions calculation and planning
  • Excellent understanding in all areas of compensation, including job architecture and short and long-term incentive plan design/administration
  • Experience with HRIS systems, benchmarking and compensation systems
  • SAP and SuccessFactors compensation modules experience a plus
  • Knowledge of relevant Federal, State/Provincial, Local laws/regulations
  • Excellent analytical and mathematics skills
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) preferred
  • Sales Compensation experience preferred
  • Ability to be consultative and pragmatic in compensation programs and recommendations while leading through influence

Compensation & Benefits:


Salary Range $94,800-$130,350. This range is estimated for a Compensation Manager in Loveland, Colorado.  Actual salary and benefits may differ based upon location.

In addition to base pay, this role is also eligible to participate in our annual incentive plan, consistent with the terms of our plan, which provide discretionary award opportunities reflecting components such as performance of the company and the employee.  Details will be discussed through the application process.
